TAGGS WEA27
Criccieth, North Wales
In 2027 the WEA will be based in Criccieth, North Wales. Criccieth is a charming Victorian seaside resort town located on Cardigan Bay in Gwynedd, North West Wales, known as the "Pearl of Wales on the Shores of Snowdonia. Complete with two cracking beaches, a castle and most likely some nice pubs.. what more do you need for a WEA?..... what about the golf you say... (click the photo's for the club website)
Friday 3rd September - Porthmadog GC
A recent favourite of TAGGS having visited twice on Captain's day in 2024 & 2025. A fabulous coastal course where the front nine is mostly parkland, then onto the links back nine with some terrific views over the bay. It will be a great opening day for the WEA.
Saturday 4th September - Nefyn GC
Nefyn Golf Club is a golf club based in Morfa Nefyn, Pwllheli, Gwynedd, North Wales. The course has 27 holes, with a view of the sea from every tee; nine holes are played on the world-famous "Point". It is set high on the sea cliffs of the narrow peninsula overlooking Porthdinllaen bay.
Sunday 5th September - Royal St David's GC
The glorious setting for Royal St David’s Golf Club is nothing short of beautiful and romantic. The forbidding medieval Harlech castle and towering sand dunes guard the course. Locals regard Royal St David’s as the world’s toughest par 69. Who would argue with them? The course measures 6,500 yards from the back tees. It’s not your usual out-and-back links – the holes zigzag in all directions, subjecting each shot to the vagaries of the prevailing westerly wind.
We will be staying at the Lion Hotel in Criccieth (click photo below for the hotel website)
The costs will be £539 (Twin) & £745 (Single) for 3-nights and golf included.. Please contact Steve Pickford if interested, though 12-months away only a few spots remain....
