31st March - Fleetwood Golf Club

Fleetwood Golf Course was designed in 1932 by James Steer, although golf was believed to have taken place on site much earlier with local army bases playing golf on the site.

A traditional links course it is a much valued addition to the TAGGS golfing season.

TAGGS 2026 Charity

At our first day of the season at Mere Golf & Country Club, our Captain, Duncan Yellen, announced this years charity. TAGGS are proud to announce we will support Prostrate Cancer UK.

Prostrate cancer affects 1 in 8 men and as pointed out by Rick Hudd our Handicap Secretary in a group at Mere consisting of 24 members the chances are that three of us will be affected. He himself had a routine medical a few years ago and was given the horrendous news and as he pointed out was lucky to have caught it early enough.

There are no screening plans and yet a non intrusive test of your PSA levels can offer early detection. TAGGS plan to raise as much as is possible to help with research and raising awareness of test procedures and availability.

A fantastic choice of Charity for this year as we have seen the affects on one of our own and I am sure that the membership will back it 100%. We are trying to raise funds with some of the following ideas/plans

TFL26 - Fantasy League (Raised £260)

Pairs Trophy (£10/pair entry fee)

Fantasy League at The Masters

Fantasy League at The Open

Sweep Stake - 2026 FIFA World Cup

18th Bunker on each day - find it donate £1.

Raffle - The Mere 4 ball (worth £600)

Captain's Day - Will be raising donations and fun items.

Plus general donations from members during the year. Please support Duncan and Rick and lets raise as much as is possible.
